The Indian Ringneck Parakeet or Rose-ringed ParakeetPsittacula krameri is native to India and a band across central Africa. It is sexually dimorphic. The adult male sports a red neck-ring and the hen and immature birds of both sexes either show no neck rings, or display shadow-like pale to dark grey neck rings. They can have a body color of yellow or blue.
The 4000 and 5000 series photos were taken at the New Plymouth Zoo and the other were taken at the Invercargill Aviary. Photo 0874 shows well the pink neck ring of the male RIngneck.
