The Peruvian Thick-knee, Burhinus superciliaris, is in the thick-knee or Burhinidae family. It is found in Chile, Ecuador and Peru. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical dry shrubland, subtropical or tropical seasonally wet or flooded lowland grassland, and pastureland. Ironically, it is known for its very thin legs but has thickened knees.
