Stilts are very long-legged shore birds thus the name stilts. There are three species and four sub-species.

Black-necked Stilt, Himantopus (himantopus/mexicanus) mexicanus
Black Stilt, Himantopus novaezelandiae
Banded Stilt, Cladorhynchus leucocephalus
