The Canadian Goose is the most common goose in North
America with a territory that includes the entire US. It is
common on golf courses, nature preserves, reservoirs and
other sites. All of these photos were taken at the Arcadia
Arboretum. The white band under the chin is distinctive.
Only the Cackling Goose is similar but with a shorter neck
and much more restricted territory. Close-up the iris is
black with the red retina visible in the center (5891).
