The Yellow-billed CotingaCarpodectes antoniae, is a species of bird in the Cotingidae family, which includes the Cock-of-the-Rock. It is found in Costa Rica and Panama. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests, subtropical or tropical mangrove forests, and subtropical or tropical moist shrub land.
To see this bird we took the road to the Rincon Bridge, Costa Rica and stood on the bridge. Shortly several birds appeared on the tops of distant trees. I was able to photograph them there and in the air. Jim said that in 50 years, because of habitat loss, they will probably be gone.
