Clark's Nutcracker Nucifraga columbiana along with the Steller's Jay were common among the mountain pine trees around Lake Mary, Mammouth Lakes, CA where these photographs were taken. Like the Steller's Jay this bird was easy to attract with a few crumbs of bread on the banister. The pale grey body and black wings are distinctive.
