The Turkey VultureCathartes aura, is the most widespread of the New World vultures. It ranges from southern Canada to the southernmost tip of South America. It inhabits a variety of open and semi-open areas, including subtropical forests, shrublands, pastures, and deserts.
While this bird has been presented in other places on this web site, I include it here to show it remarkable range (see map). It was photographed on the Falklands.
