The Lazuli Bunting Passerine amoena is a gorgeous bird with its blue head, throat and back and contrasting orange chest and white abdomen. I saw my first Lazuli Buntings at the George Walker House in southwest Arizona. The females are more muted without the blue head and neck (6566). Photo 6510 shows a male and female facing each other. In this male the blue head is splotched with orange.
