The Curve-billed Thrasher shows a formidable face with its large curved black bill and large yellow iris. The rest of the body is a plain grey like the smaller Canyon Towhee. A Texas variant has round spots on the breast similar to 7722 versus the more elongated spots (8200) of the regular Curve-billed Thrasher. Another thrasher in the Arizona range is the Bendire’s Thrasher. It has a similar appearance but more buffy-colored flanks and triangular breast spots.
